Carson Hocevar wrote the most important chapter of his young career by claiming his first win in the NASCAR Cup Series, in a chaotic race at the Talladega Superspeedway. The Spire Motorsports driver secured victory by just 0.114 seconds over Chris Buescher after an intense and dramatic finish in one of the most unpredictable races of the season.

Chris Buescher finished second, marking his best-ever Talladega result, while Alex Bowman completed the podium after a solid performance. Chase Elliott and Zane Smith rounded out the top five, with Smith also setting the fastest lap of the race.
Total chaos: the “Big One” strikes again
As expected at Talladega, the race featured a massive multi-car crash — the infamous “Big One.” Contact between Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain triggered a chain reaction involving 26 cars, effectively eliminating half the field from contention.
The incident brought out a red flag and sidelined several major contenders, including Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and championship leader Tyler Reddick. While some drivers managed to return, their chances of victory were effectively over.
