BMW is set to redefine its most iconic model with the unveiling of the new BMW i3, the first fully electric 3 Series and the second vehicle built on the brand\u2019s new \u201cNeue Klasse\u201d platform. More than an evolution, this i3 represents a fundamental shift in BMW\u2019s approach to mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model debuts as the i3 50 xDrive, featuring dual electric motors and all-wheel drive, producing 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm of torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new i3 plays a central role in BMW\u2019s future strategy. The Neue Klasse introduces a new technological framework where software, electrification and efficiency take priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its core is the sixth-generation BMW eDrive system, featuring an 800-volt architecture, new round-cell batteries and significantly improved efficiency. This enables a range of up to 900 km (WLTP) and charging power of up to 400 kW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In real terms, this means up to 400 km of range can be added in just 10 minutes of fast charging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the BMW i3 introduces a completely new user interface. The BMW Panoramic iDrive replaces traditional instrument clusters with a full-width projection across the windscreen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is complemented by a 17.9-inch central display and a 3D head-up display, creating a driver-focused digital environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interaction is supported by a virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence and advanced language models, enabling more natural voice commands and integration with external digital services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electronic architecture is also built around four dedicated \u2018supercomputers\u2019, responsible for different vehicle functions, with processing capacity up to 20 times greater than previous generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This system enables more precise control in corners and more predictable handling, while the battery architecture, positioned in the floor, contributes to a low center of gravity and improved dynamic balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The i3 also integrates advanced driver assistance systems with a \u2018symbiotic\u2019 approach, where the driver continues to play an active role even with the assistance systems activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visually, the new i3 retains classic BMW sedan proportions while introducing a cleaner, more modern design language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front integrates the signature grille and headlights into a unified lighting element, while the rear emphasizes width and precision with horizontal light signatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the cabin maximizes space and integrates sustainable materials with a strong digital focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BMW i3 will be produced at BMW\u2019s Munich plant, which is undergoing transformation to become fully dedicated to electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model also incorporates around 30% recycled materials and follows a lifecycle approach to reducing CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
