SIMAGIC has strengthened its position in the premium sim racing segment with the commercial arrival of the new Alpha EVO Ultra 28 Nm, the most powerful wheel base in the current EVO range. The brand officially introduced the model on March 12, and in the following days it began appearing as in-stock through both the official store and authorized distributors; by March 23 it was already being sold through multiple channels, confirming its effective arrival on the market.

More than a simple catalog update, the EVO Ultra represents a clear repositioning of SIMAGIC within the high-performance direct drive market. Until now, the 23 Nm Alpha U stood as the brand’s highest reference point; with this new model, SIMAGIC moves up to 28 Nm and places itself directly in the territory typically reserved for users demanding stronger rigs, more detail, more force and faster response.

A new flagship for the EVO family

The EVO Ultra joins the new Alpha EVO generation, which already included 9, 12 and 18 Nm variants. This new model becomes the top tier of that line and brings more than just extra torque. According to SIMAGIC, it uses an ultra-low inertia motor, a 21-bit encoder, 20 kHz frequency and an architecture focused on better force feedback fidelity, faster response and reduced parasitic resistance. The company also highlights Zero-Cogging technology, the DFDF algorithm and an active cooling system.

In practical terms, that technical positioning shows SIMAGIC was not just trying to build a stronger base, but a more refined one. In sim racing, raw power without control means very little; what separates a truly premium wheel base is how well it delivers micro-detail, fast transitions and consistency under load. That is exactly where the EVO Ultra is trying to make its case. That ambition is also reflected in the brand presenting it as the new flagship of its range.

Specifications aimed at the high end

In terms of construction, the EVO Ultra features a cast aluminum body, weighs around 11 kg, and delivers a maximum power output of 550 W. The base supports next-generation SIMAGIC wheels via CAN FD, legacy connectivity via 2.4G, and third-party wheels through a USB QR-A adapter, reinforcing its relatively open ecosystem approach. Compatibility with SimPro Manager 3.0.0, specifically designed for the EVO Ultra, also shows that the product arrives as part of a new phase of the brand’s platform.

Price is another key factor. On the official store, the EVO Ultra appeared at $969, placing it in a highly competitive bracket for a 28 Nm base. In a market where the high-end segment is becoming increasingly dense and demanding, the relationship between specification and price will be one of the decisive factors in how the product is received.

What this launch means for SIMAGIC

This launch matters not only because of the product itself, but because of what it represents for the brand. SIMAGIC had already moved beyond being seen as an “alternative” manufacturer, but the EVO Ultra confirms its intention to compete head-on with the strongest names in premium direct drive hardware. By moving from 23 to 28 Nm and tying that increase to a new technical platform, the company is sending a clear message: it wants to be taken seriously at the very top of competitive hardware.

It is still too early for a final verdict — that belongs to reviews and real-world virtual track use. But as a market story, the arrival of the SIMAGIC EVO Ultra 28 Nm is clear: the brand has entered a new league, and it has done so with a product that, at least on paper, has the technical substance to match its ambition.
