DTM is set to expand its sim racing activities with the launch of the iRacing DTM Series, a new virtual competition that will run alongside the 2026 season.

The initiative is part of a partnership with iRacing, one of the world’s leading motorsport simulation platforms, boasting more than 350,000 registered users. The new series will complement DTM’s existing presence on RaceRoom, where the DTM eSports Championship will continue to take place.

The iRacing DTM Series will feature community races held ahead of each of the eight rounds of the real-world DTM calendar. Virtual races are scheduled for Thursdays before race weekends, starting at 20:00, allowing sim racers from different time zones to take part.

The season kicks off on April 23 with a virtual race at the Red Bull Ring, followed by events at Zandvoort, Spa-Francorchamps, and Brands Hatch. The second half of the season includes Oschersleben, the Nürburgring, the Sachsenring, and the finale at Hockenheimring.

Open to all registered iRacing users, the series aims to bring DTM action directly into fans’ homes, offering the chance to compete on the same circuits as the real championship. To enhance realism, official liveries from the 2025 DTM season will be available via the “Trading Paints” platform.

The race format mirrors the real DTM, with 55-minute races and mandatory pit stops, ensuring competitive and engaging racing.

According to ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss, the move reflects growing interest among sim racers. “There is huge enthusiasm for DTM in the sim racing community. We want to make the experience accessible to an even wider audience”, he said.
